Due to a forecast of a 100% chance of rain on Sunday, Amelia Island Concours founder Bill Warner and his team have decided to move the 2017 Amelia Island Concours d’ Elegance to Saturday, March 11, 2017. They issued this statement on the official Amelia Island Concours Facebook page the morning of March 9:
“Due to a chance of heavy precipitation on Sunday and a sunshine-filled Saturday in the forecast, Bill Warner and his team have chosen to move Sunday’s Concours to Saturday. More details to follow soon. Please spread the word.”
Another post was sent out about one hour later explaining the schedule in regards to the Cars n’ Coffee:
“Even with the move of Sunday’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance to Satuday, Cars & Coffee at the Concours on Saturday is still on. Cars & Coffee vehicles that were scheduled to be on fairways 10 and 18 will now be located on Fairway #2 and MotorXpo cars will remain on MotorXpo.
BOTH shows will coincide with each other. The Cars & Coffee areas will be free entry. The Concours show will have normal ticket entry on the main field.
Saturday, March 11, Cars & Coffee at the Concours: 9am until 5pm at MotorXpo and Fairway #2. Cars will need to remain on field the entire time.
Saturday, March 11, Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance: 9:30am until 5pm on the main field. Tickets required.”
This good call by Bill and his team will ensure that the 2017 Amelia Island Concours d’ Elegance will be on a day filled with sunshine. The Amelia Island Concours team is asking that readers please share this information with their friends and fellow attendees.
